Connect Dexi to Claude

Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant, available on the web at claude.ai and as a desktop app for Mac and Windows. Claude supports remote MCP servers through custom connectors — connect Dexi once and every conversation can draw on your notes, bookmarks, emailed articles, and feed entries.
The connection uses OAuth: Claude never sees your Dexi password, and you can revoke its access at any time from Dexi’s settings.
What you need
- Custom connectors are available on Claude’s paid plans (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise). On Team and Enterprise, an admin may need to enable them for the workspace.
- A Dexi account — free at app.dexi.net.
Setup
Add the connector
- Open Settings → Connectors (same place in claude.ai and Claude Desktop).
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Enter the server URL:
https://mcp.dexi.net/mcp - Click Connect. Your browser opens Dexi’s approval page — sign in if you aren’t already, review the access being granted, and approve.
Try it
In a chat, Dexi’s tools are available under the search-and-tools menu. Try: “Search my Dexi notes for everything about pricing experiments and summarize the disagreements.”
Troubleshooting
Dexi doesn’t appear in my chat
Check the search-and-tools menu in the chat input — connectors can be toggled per conversation. If the connector is missing entirely, confirm it shows as connected under Settings → Connectors and reconnect if needed.
I don’t see “Add custom connector”
Custom connectors require a paid Claude plan, and on Team/Enterprise workspaces an admin has to allow them. Ask your admin to enable custom connectors, or connect from a personal Pro account.
Disconnecting
In the Dexi app, open Settings → Connected apps to see every app connected to your account and disconnect any of them instantly. Revoking access there signs Claudeout of your notes no matter what’s configured on the client side.
Frequently asked questions
Does connecting Dexi to Claude share my password?
No. The connection uses OAuth: Claude receives its own revocable credentials scoped to your notes. You can disconnect it any time from Settings → Connected apps in Dexi.
Can Claude on the free plan use Dexi?
Custom connectors are a paid-plan Claude feature (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise). Dexi itself has a free plan — the paid requirement is on Claude’s side.
What can Claude do with my notes?
Search by keyword or meaning, read notes in full, list tags, find similar notes, and — with your instruction — create, update, or delete notes. It only ever sees notes your own Dexi account can see.
